Hito Artlab is a media art duo formed by Kim Huisu and Choi Youngtoe. Working with technology to create moving images and artworks, we explore how immediate sensory pleasure can lead to reflection.
Artist statement
For us, technology is an artistic language that expands what we can perceive. Through digitally composed images and movement, we look for moments that stir an instinctive curiosity.
Our work begins with stimulation and play: experiences the body responds to before words arrive. Striking scenes and unexpected movement draw the viewer in. We hope that, as the experience fades, a question remains.
What drew us in? Why did we enjoy it? What are we feeling now? Hito Artlab seeks to make room for a sensory response to unfold into a thought of one’s own.
